About Me

I am a senior strategic consultant and communications professional with over twenty years of experience across the public and private sectors. With a background in communications, I now work with a variety of clients on strategic communications, business planning, audience development, community engagement, branding and leadership. I bring a broad range of personal experience to my innovative and entrepreneurial thinking.

“Miki Lentin has worked with Cultural Associates Oxford (CAO) designing and delivering innovative communications strategies and new approaches for audience engagement with a range of our clients, from the Houses of Parliament’s Parliamentary Collections to the British Council. He has an eye for detail, delivering his work to an incredibly high standard and at great speed. Miki supports clients with great skill and diplomacy, acting as a coach and mentor, facilitating teams thoughtfully through complex, and sometimes challenging processes.”

Lucy Shaw, Founder and Director, Cultural Associates Oxford

Over the past few years, I have worked with Cultural Associates Oxford on a range of projects, from developing the strategy and vision for the Parliamentary Collections of the Houses of Parliament, strategic reviews of Culture East Sussex, and the Manchester Literature Festival, as well as international work with the British Council Creative Economy teams in the UK, Russia and Wider Europe.

I have also developed NLHF audience development plans for St Mary le Strand Church and the Wren300 project, a marketing strategy for the Society of Antiquaries, and now manage the communications for the London Law Collective.

I provide mentoring to colleagues in the cultural sector through the Arts Marketing Association and I am part of the faculty of Oxford Cultural Leaders and support small and medium size businesses through 121 mentoring and Peer Networking with OxLEP.

“Miki Lentin Consultancy produced the marketing strategy for the Society’s new Affiliate membership scheme. He produced a detailed and comprehensive plan and provided us with a set of sturdy steps to help us advance from planning through to delivery. His wide-ranging experience in the cultural sector is invaluable and he was able to provide us with well-informed and considered advice to produce a strategy that matched our needs. Miki Lentin Consultancy is highly recommended by the Society of Antiquaries.”

Dominic Wallis, Head of Development

Until 2019 I was Head of Corporate Affairs at the UK’s national library, the British Library, with responsibility for corporate strategy, communications, marketing, content production, public policy and community engagement.

Miki’s expert advice and experience has been invaluable.  In our first year of trading, Miki helped us overhaul the structure of our hastily created website and his ability to write in a relaxed and engaging way has transformed our content and messaging.  He has also helped us pull together a communications strategy with his quick ability both to diagnose our key priorities and also to find solutions that work for a new business of our size.”

Joanna Farquharson, Founder and CEO, London Law Collective

I have a keen interest in the role cultural organisations have as neighbours within their cities and communities. This led to my creation of the UK’s leading innovation district, the Knowledge Quarter, a visionary concept to transform engagement and partnership by the major culture, research, academic and science institutions in and around King’s Cross, London.

“Breaking Barriers commissioned Miki to help us devise a communications and PR strategy for our annual photography exhibition, Leave Home, Save Lives. Miki’s way of working was the right balance of strategic and tactically supportive, he augmented our very small internal project team seamlessly and worked proactively with other freelancers, saving us a lot of work in coordinating the PR and social. The results exceeded all our expectations with the launch gaining broadcast coverage across three channels and national print coverage too. Miki is a pleasure to work with – creative, supportive and reliable.”

Matt Powell, CEO, Breaking Barriers

Volunteering and helping my local community is very important to me. I am a Governor of Highgate Wood Secondary School, and volunteer with The Refugee Council, Breaking Barriers and Hornsey Food Bank. I travelled the world for a year with my family in 2016-17, and in 2019 completed an MA in Creative Writing at Birkbeck, University of London.
